who we are

I’m J.W. Carpenter, a Houston native now rooted in Byhalia, Mississippi, where I worship as a member of Germantown Baptist Church. My journey began in the pews of Houston’s Second Baptist Church under Dr. Ed Young, a mentor whose preaching sparked my hunger for truth. Later, at Champion Forest Baptist and Houston Baptist University, I wrestled with faith in a world loud with doubt and distraction. Those roots—grounded in a Southern Baptist family of preachers and professors—shaped me, but it was a deeper question that defined my calling:

What if Jesus is exactly who He claims to be?

That question led to AI vs The Case for Christ: An Impartial Evaluation of Evidence, my debut book, and it’s the heartbeat of every story I tell. Inspired by Lee Strobel’s relentless pursuit of evidence, I set out to explore truth not with blind faith but with rigor, using cutting-edge tools like artificial intelligence to sift through prophecy, history, and sacrifice. My books aren’t just words on a page—they’re invitations to see God’s glory, to find clarity in chaos, and to know Jesus as the unshakable truth. My mission is simple: to craft stories that glorify God and light a path for others. Whether you’re a believer seeking strength, a skeptic craving reason, or someone lost in today’s digital storm, I write for you. Through books like AI vs The Case for Christ, I aim to cut through the noise, offering evidence and heart to draw you closer to the One who holds all truth. This isn’t about fame or fortune—it’s about faith, shared humbly from a Tennessee pew to wherever you are.

This desire to reach people is not just for adults. Bringing morals and understanding to the youngest among us is critical to society. God intended us to get along and love one another as His greatest command. This starts as a child. We learn to hate or we can learn to get along, share and be kind. Sometimes this shows up in rivalries or school spirit, but beyond the competition we need to understand that the people we compete with are not enemies, but quality individuals worthy or respect and our love. After all, if God loves us, can't we do the same for each other?

Evidence-Driven Apologetics

I dig deep into truth, using tools like artificial intelligence to test claims with courtroom rigor, as seen in AI vs The Case for Christ. Inspired by Lee Strobel, I blend prophecy (Micah 5:2), history (Josephus), and reason (60–99% probabilities) to build a case for Jesus that stands firm for believers and skeptics alike. My work doesn’t preach—it proves, glorifying God by revealing His unshakable reality.

Heartfelt Faith in a Chaotic World

Rooted in Southern Baptist pews—Houston’s Second Baptist, Champion Forest, and now Germantown Baptist—I write from a heart shaped by grace and grit. My books cut through today’s digital noise, offering clarity and hope with practical tools like the FAITH acronym to share Christ’s love. I aim to anchor readers in God’s truth, no matter the storm around them.

Bridging Belief and Doubt

I speak to diverse souls—devout Christians, curious skeptics, and tech-savvy seekers—drawing from my Houston Baptist University journey and a family of preachers. My stories invite everyone to wrestle with life’s biggest question: Is Jesus who He claims? By merging cutting-edge AI with timeless faith, I build bridges to truth, guiding readers to God’s glory with openness and authenticity.
